MY WORLD SERIES GAME 4 EXPERIENCE
by The Nation
I can finally check off one of those "Things You Have To Do Before You Die" items. Not only was I fortunate enough to go to a World Series game, but the game I went to was the clinching game 4. My Red Sox won the World Series right in-front of my eyes. If your half the baseball fan I am you can relate to the difference of being at the ball park, to watching it on T.V. To me there is no comparison. The smells, the site of walking out and seeing the field, the rowdy fans (especially rowdy when your decked out in Sox gear, and are at Coors Field chanting "LETS GO RED SOX"). Thats me on the right with my two brothers-in-law. That was right about where we were sitting. Not as close to the action as we would have liked, but it didn't matter. We were in and thats all that mattered. All we had to do was avoid getting our eyes poked out by those damn towels. Although (free cheap shot here) they didn't have much reason to waive them.

One nice surprise that I didn't not expect when we got to Denver was how nice the people are there. I mean really really nice. As we all were walking out of the ballpark I was amazed at how many Rockies fans who passed us said "congratulations", "you've got a great team". Forgive me but I'm used to Fenway where you'd be lucky to escape without a loud "BOOOYAAA" right in your face. But the attitude of the people in Denver did not sour even the night they lost. We all went out to the bars (which Denver has more of then any place I've ever been...including Boston) to celebrate. These people know how to party. Awesome rooftop bars, great beer and a cool music scene. I would go back to Denver in a heart beat.

The fact is I spent way too much money that I didn't have to make this whole thing happen, but it was worth 10 times what I paid. This happened for me spur of the moment and I said F it...I'm doing it!! And I'm glad I did.
If you ever have the opportunity to do something like this I highly recommend it. Yes it will hit you in the wallet harder than a drunken weekend splurge at Foxy Lady, but you'll recover...and never forget the time you had.
