I have 60 of the 1989 UD Big Unit rookies in mint/nrmt condition. Now if Smoltz could only do something. He's in 89 also and it's the first year UD.

The 89 UD factory set was one of the hottest items around 1990, I remember some selling for as much as $ 165--75 at the card shows and flea markets..The 90 UD set started off warm but never had the appeal, or rookies, of that 89 set......jm

I know a local man who has 14 hand collated 1989 UD sets. He kept a magnifying glass in his back pocket. Whenever he came into my store, he would find only the best cards with the sharpest corners. I am currently trying to buy all 14 sets. I know there were quite a few 89 sets produced but that was a first year issue and for that reason I am willing to gamble a bit. He has not set a price yet but I know I can get them for less that what you would have paid in the past especially when the set first hit.

The set design, the rookies, the anti-counterfeit thread all took the hobby by storm..The set was red hot and you couldn't touch them for under $ 150 as demand rose...

Good luck getting the 14 sets..jm
